Baker is the proud sponsor of Dr Georgia Lee’s Private Lives showcase at the Audi Fashion Festival 2009. This year’s fashion fest has been a little lowkey, compared to previous years, what with the recession, budget constrains and credit crunch. However, kind businesses and philanthropical companies like Baker are still stepping up to support and sponsor shows, designers and start-ups in whatever ways they can and I applaud these companies for their generosity and warm hearts.

This year’s lineup of designers and shows at AFF included Christian Lacroix, Vivienne Westwood, Marc by Marc Jacobs (My fav!), current IT boy Gareth Pugh, Ashley Isham, Mango, Raoul and of course Private Lives by Baker featuring Dr Georgia Lee. I read that Dr Lee is launching her own line of skincare called Georgia and was excited to find out more.

We attended as guests of Baker and I must say the pre-party reception area was styled to perfection by my favourite Joseph Lim from Tatler Homes. Baker’s best pieces were on show and glamorous models simulated ‘living scenes’ while guests were enjoying cocktails. It was Hollywood glam at its best.

The Private Lives show was certainly the highlight of Saturday and the ultra thin Georgia took to the stage with a bevy of male models showcasing pieces from the likes of Jean-Paul Gaultier, Christian Lacroix, Franck Sorbier, Vera Wang and Dominic Sirop (Loved that dress!) with themes like The Statesman, Screen Goddess and Aristocrat.

There were a few surprises with the male models stripping down, playing paparazzi instead and a nest of feathers blowing from huge fans for the white finale transforming the whole tent and its occupants into snow. I had feathers all over my hair & dress and needless to say, most of the guests were busy covering their mouths and dusting feathers off to fully appreciate the grand finale. =/

UNTITLED-2

Georgia looked amazing in all the pieces and I think she is a walking testimony of her own skincare and aesthetics clinic. Her skin was flawless! She was also super daring to take on such a task and be the only female model with all eyes on her. I would certainly crack under such scrutiny! I had a great time catching up with business associates, friends and contacts from the media. I can’t wait for the next fashion show!
