Pewter giants Royal Selangor celebrated its Spring 09  launch a couple of weeks ago at its flagship store at Clarke Quay.

You can view the collection here: http://www.royalselangor.com.sg/rs2/productdetails.php?ProductSKU=SPRING_2009&Referer=8|0|0&Highlights=1

Jayson Brunsdon presented the wardrobe for the fashion show and of course I had to go and show my support! We showed the Black Collection at the launch and it looked really great. Black is another of Jayson’s new creations – a chic & elegant executive line that brings you from the office to the clubs in the blink of an eye. The functional ready to wear line does not only carry black pieces but is aptly titled Black meaning staples in the wardrobe and pieces you can wear daily. Have a look at some of my favourites from this collection:

To keep us occupied before the highlight of the evening, the lovely people at Royal Selangor put us through the School of Hard Knocks test! It was sooo fun! We got to make our own pewter dish & engrave it and mould it into shape! Everyone should join the School of Hard Knocks at least once in their life!

With just a few simple tools (hammer, mallet, wooden mould and scraper), you will be guided through the processes of forming, scraping, polishing and packing by the experienced pewtersmith at Royal Selangor to craft your own pewter dish.

The finished dish, engraved with your initials or a personal message, is yours to keep along with your “apprentice pewtersmith” apron and a personalised certificate to attest to your newfound skills. The workshop session, which takes about 30 to 40 mins, costs SGD$30 per person and is open to groups up to a maximum size of 30.

With a little help from the experts, mine looked ready to be sold in the stores! I am getting the girls to attend a session with me soon so we can all make lovely dishes to keep! The session was really fun & easy to follow so girlies don’t have to worry. Honestly, I’m one of the most uncoordinated humans around so if I can do it, anyone else will have no problems at all. =)
